Doer
The alarm goes off at 5 a.m. He reaches over and turns it off. Then he sits up and puts his feet on the floor. That is the whole thing. He doesn’t feel like it. He never feels like it, and a long time ago he stopped waiting to. He gets dressed in the dark and steps out into the cold. Same dream as the man still in bed. He just decided to pay for it.
Dreamer
The alarm goes off at 5 a.m. He reaches over, but not to turn it off. He just pushes it back an hour. Tomorrow he will start. Tomorrow the plan will be perfect. He lies there and watches the life he wants play out on the ceiling, so close he can almost touch it. Then he rolls over. The pillow is warm. The dream costs nothing. He falls back asleep.
